87 Best Sales Tools & Resources: Crush Your Goals In 2022

Let’s face it. When you join a sales organization, the sole number one purpose is to make money, and lots of it. That’s what makes the profession so satisfying yet equally challenging.

When you finish up the month or quarter, you find yourself with a commission cheque that exceeds five figures. It’s certainly a good feeling, knowing all that hard work paid off.

Equally appealing in the sales profession is the fact that there is always the opportunity and ability to do better. If you want to. You can:

  • Learn outreach
  • Improve your closing ratios
  • Use tech to automate your sales processes
  • Improve your negotiation skills
  • Make better use of your time

To touch the tip of the iceberg.

If you want to improve the result you had last year and crush your targets this year. Keep reading.

This mega list includes sales tools and resources to help you evolve your sales skills and make more money.

This list covers areas such as CRMs, sales enablement platforms, automation tools, education & training resources, and books.

So why should you trust me and this guide?

I am a Sales Professional with over seven years of experience across a wide range of industries.

I have hit sales goals exceeding seven figures, working across Document, SaaS and Financial Services within a broad spectrum of vertical markets. I have booked some of the world’s largest companies exceeding multiple billion dollars in turnover. In addition, I have experience selling across APAC, EU and US regions.

I now manage and mentor a team of Sales Professionals. I have started this blog as an extension of the education and training I provide to my Sales Representatives.

Alright, enough about me, onto the complete list.

Please Note: Some links in this blog post may provide me with a small commission at no cost to you.

What are the best CRMs?

Suppose you have been in Sales for at least a small amount of time. You will understand that CRMs (customer relationship management systems) are considered the lifeblood of a sales team. However, I would also think that sales enablement platforms are a close second, and more and more, it seems the lines are starting to blur between these two functions.

In any case, every sales organization needs a CRM.

CRMs are essential to building a database of potential customers, tracking communications and, most importantly, building a pipeline of possible deals!

Ultimately, your SaaS business is dead in the water without a CRM unless you are willing to resort to spreadsheets. But, please don’t. We are no longer living in ’97.

Here are my top recommendations for CRMs in 2022.

hubspot homepage

Hubspot is a hugely popular CRM for SaaS companies. I love using Hubspot’s clean interface, and they provide a reasonable price point of $50/month (USD) for their base plan.

Features can be scaled to service multiple business areas such as Marketing, Sales, Service and Operations, making it a perfect fit for a new business. In addition, the platform can grow as the company needs to.

The platform includes sales engagement tools such as sequences, templates, automation, and essentially any reporting you could desire for sales professionals.

For this reason, they are my #1 pick and come with my highest recommendation.

To get started with Hubspot, click the link below to their product page.

salesforce homepage

Second, on the list is Salesforce. Salesforce is great, although a little pricey. Hence, it’s probably not the best bet for new SaaS businesses coming into the market.

Salesforce is considered the ‘world’s most trusted customer relationship management (CRM) platform’ (their words, not mine.)

Salesforce is much more customizable than Hubspot. You can build customized applications to manage every aspect of your customer relationship. They have an intuitive user interface that makes it easy for your teams to get up and running quickly and see results fast — pricing TBA.

Zendesk Sell

Another popular option for small SaaS companies is Zendesk Sell. I wouldn’t rate it as highly as Hubspot. Still, it is a reasonable option if the budget doesn’t allow for any of the other options.

Zendesk Sell is a simple and affordable customer relationship management solution.

This easy-to-use platform can help you manage your sales force automation needs and integrates seamlessly with Zendesk’s popular customer service solutions, such as Reach.

Because the platform allows additional addons to meet the needs of the business, you can start with just your requirements and scale from there.

Zendesk Sell starts at just $19/USD per month, so a very affordable option for those on a shoestring budget.

With reviews on my top 3 complete, see below for other recommendations.

Less Annoying CRM

Finding a CRM system that doesn’t drive you crazy can feel like an impossible task.

Most systems on the market are loaded with features that you’ll never use, and they’re so complicated that you need a team of IT experts to get them up and running. Not to mention, they’re prohibitively expensive for small businesses.

I’m not sure about the company name, but the Less Annoying CRM is built to be…less annoying.
